In this interview, we spoke with Ms. Haruka Yokoyama of the DX Promotion Section, Information Management Department at KOSÉ Corporation, about the changes she has seen after automating testing with Autify.

🎯 The background and challenges before implementing Autify

  • As the system's functionality grew, more and more time was spent on manual testing.
  • There was no dedicated tester, so people had to be assigned to manual testing, making it difficult to devote enough time to other important tasks.
  • Due to the lack of regression testing, problems in existing features were discovered at release.
  • The team wanted to avoid key person dependency, where a specific member gathers all the testing knowledge and skills, and allow anyone to participate in building and running tests.

  • Automated approximately 150 regression test cases for the web chat and booking system for general consumers.
  • When converting existing test cases into tests suitable for automation, the team utilized Autify’s onboarding support, including usage sessions, and created highly reusable scenarios.

  • The testing process became significantly more efficient, saving the team over 110 man-hours in total.
  • The large amount of man-hours spent on pre-release testing has been reduced, and the team is now able to spend that time and resources on other projects and tasks.
  • There are plans to use Autify for other teams' systems.

The DX Promotion Section of the Information Management Department is a team dedicated to improving customer experience across all brands. As IT initiatives spread throughout the company, we began using more and more tools at a larger scale, and teams are spending more man-hours on regression testing than they could afford. To combat this, we introduced Autify to automate the detailed testing process that we used to perform manually. As a result, the testing process is now streamlined significantly, saving the team over 110 man-hours in total. It has freed up time for new projects and has allowed the team to focus on its core responsibilities. Going forward, we will continue working on automation, not only for testing but also for other business operations, and focus our efforts on providing services that exceed our clients' expectations.
